B.B. King is performing at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino on December 5, 2013. King, well known as the King of Blues, is still going strong at eighty-eight years old. Despite performing a Farewell tour of Europe in 2006, King has continued to tour in the U.S. This year’s touring schedule would tire most performers, even those a third of his age. This special event is an evening not to miss. Earlier in his career, B.B. King performed as many as 342 shows per year, slowing to around a hundred in recent years.
King started his recording career in 1949 and has released over fifty recordings, although his recording schedule has slowed considerably since his early start. His last studio album, King of Favor, was released in 2008. King has played the guitar since the age of twelve. For much of his career, he has played a Gibson guitar that he has affectionately dubbed “Lucille.”
Tickets for the concert are priced at $45, $55, and $65 and may be purchased from Ticketmaster. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Attendees must be at least 21 years old because the concert is held at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino.
