Due to a lack of consistency among rulings regarding the sale of medical marijuana in California, the Tuolumne County Superior Court recently dismissed marijuana trafficking charges against four people. All four were arrested during a drug raid at a marijuana dispensary collective. The defendants were accused of selling marijuana for profit.

California marijuana advocates re-energized by legalization in other states
California has long been engaged in a battle regarding the legalization of marijuana. In 2010’s election, a bill was put to the voters to decide the legalization of marijuana, but it did not pass. Advocates to the drug’s legalization attempted to get the bill on the 2012 ballot but failed.
Today, voters in Colorado and Washington passed historic amendments that will legalize the use of recreational marijuana. Many in California wonder: Is our state next? While initiatives to legalize marijuana in California certainly exist, there are some concerns, which are highlighted by the challenges faced in Colorado.
