The firm’s client was charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct upon a minor against two victims. In addition, the client faced a dual victim allegation filed by the District Attorney’s office. Had the client been convicted of at least one count for each victim under the dual victim allegation, the penalty would have increased sharply in severity: the client would have been sentenced to life in prison for each count, instead of 15 years for each count.
Following a six-day trial in December, the jury returned with a verdict of not guilty on all four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct. The client was found guilty only of simple battery for one of the charges.
The rigorous preparation and strong, thorough criminal defense by the Greenberg, Greenberg & Kenyon team were instrumental in this case’s successful outcome. Their background as district attorneys and years of experience contribute to their ability to effectively handle criminal defense cases, constructing an aggressive defense and representing their clients to the conclusion of a trial. These attributes have earned the firm high regard in the legal community.
The criminal defense attorneys at Greenberg, Greenberg & Kenyon are extremely satisfied with the results of this case and pleased to see justice served for their client.
