Enjoy Riverside’s Asian Pacific Lunar New Year Festival 2014, a panoply of Asian-Pacific cultural heritage that kicks off on Saturday, January 25.
The event begins with a Parade of Nations at 10:00 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies shortly thereafter. Lunar Fest follows with a range of entertaining and educational events featured on four stages. Riverside residents can enjoy displays, entertainment, and performances by both professionals and community members. These include martial arts exhibitions, traditional Asian Music like Taiko drums, original fine art displays, and dance performances. Show schedules will be finalized this month.
Lunar Fest will also feature a free Children’s Village that will include arts and crafts for the kids. The Health Expo promises free massages, complimentary checkups, and an opportunity to speak one-on-one with local doctors. Rounding out the event will be a variety of Asian foods and a Tea Pavilion.
The event closes with a fireworks celebration, an exciting New Year’s tradition.
The Lunar Festival is being held in downtown Riverside at Mission Inn Avenue and Lemon Street. For more information, you can visit the festival’s web site at http://lunarfestriverside.com/riverside-lunar-festival/. Businesses interested in partnering with the festival should call (951) 453-3548.
